Red Flag Alert

When I created my first profile and dropped into the online dating scene, I was quite naïve. I started with Match.com, the largest dating pool on the planet. I received inquiries from hundreds of “allegedly” legitimate handsome men, vying for my attention, looking for love. I was initially overwhelmed and although I experienced a stellar ego boost(!) little did I know that more than 70% of those guys were NOT REAL! Those fake pictures and profiles were created with one end goal in mind: Find a mature woman they can build a romantic rapport with…gain her trust…get her to fall in love and “voila” she is sending them money on a regular basis, or potentially sponsoring them under a Green Card visa. They target older American women who are viable candidates for “Sugar Mama” status because they have the gross misconception that all people from America are rich!

The Scamster

(Green Card Hopefuls and Other Men Just Looking for Your Money)

Hello beautiful. Wow what an amazing profile, one person you need to meet is Kyle. Please bear with me if this message seems surprising to you. A cousin of mine is crushing on you right now after storming your profile through mine, so I am hoping I can bring two great amazing people together as he would like to meet you. He is the same age criteria as your search. He never knew I was going to contact you but thought I'd take a chance you never know until you try, it might be worth it. The leap of faith is all that matter. You could take a chance and get to know him. If you shot him a message I promise he will be so happy to get back to you with what you wish to know and pictures; his email addy is (lookingformoney@outlook.com) he also lives close to you. The Mixed Signals Guy

“Hey Katie!

I saw your profile and you are one of the sexiest girls on this site, love your hair! Let’s get together and what are you doing later?

Yes, it’s remarkable that I’m looking for a relationship and something real too. Can’t wait to meet you, it will be awesome! Can you send me some sexy pics?

Oh, no need to have a phone chat, let’s meet up and explore in person.”

(Katie sees the “mixed signals” he’s sending and has moved on) and now he’s ghosted and gone temporarily

Then, two-three weeks/months later…he’s back for another attempt

“Hiiii, what are you doing? Do you want to meet up around 10 pm at my place? I really want to get to know you better…”
